A portion of the ceiling collapsed at Guwahati airport due to heavy rain, halting operations briefly and diverting six flights. No injuries were reported as the collapse, attributed to an overflowing outlet pipe and strong winds, disrupted travel. Videos of rainwater flooding the premises went viral on social media, depicting workers struggling to manage the deluge. Additionally, the storm uprooted trees, blocking access roads. Chief Airport Officer Utpal Baruah assured efforts to minimize passenger inconvenience. Flights were diverted to Agartala and Kolkata, but normal operations resumed as visibility improved.
