External Affairs Minister S. He acknowledged the destabilizing impact of migrants but said underlying tensions predate that, with complex historical roots. Jaishankar's comments follow UN experts recently expressing alarm over reports of human rights abuses against women and girls. India dismissed the concerns as unwarranted. Jaishankar stated the goal now is for security forces to recover seized arms, enforce law and order, and prevent further violence in Manipur. He maintained the situation there is peaceful despite concerns.
