The upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar has been allotted the IATA code 'DXN', which will become active once operations begin by end of 2024. The code serves as a unique identifier for the airport globally. Spread over 1,334 hectares, the airport is being built by Switzerland's Zurich Airport, which aims to combine Indian culture and Swiss technology. CEO Christoph Schnellmann said the airport will fulfil the need for a second airport in Delhi's urban agglomeration. The terminal, ATC tower, runway and other infrastructure are currently under construction. The airport has also floated tenders for concessions like F&B, lounges, advertising and ground handling.
