Iran's late President Ebrahim Raisi is set to be buried in the holy city of Mashhad on Thursday, following his death in a helicopter crash that also claimed the lives of Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and six others. Raisi's coffin was flown to Mashhad after a funeral procession in Birjand, where thousands paid their respects. The burial will take place at the Imam Reza shrine, a revered site for Shi'ite Muslims. Acting President Mohammad Mokhber will serve until the June 28 election. Raisi, 63, was a potential successor to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Iran declared five days of mourning.
