Four US Army vessels supporting aid delivery to Gaza ran aground due to heavy seas, CENTCOM reported. Two vessels anchored on a beach near the pier, while the other two beached near Ashkelon, Israel. No injuries were reported, and the pier remains operational. The Israeli navy is assisting in the recovery. Gaza, in the midst of its bloodiest conflict, faces severe shortages due to an Israeli siege following the October 7 Hamas attack. The US-built pier aims to ease aid delivery. Since its operation began on May 17, over 1,000 metric tons of aid have been delivered.
