A devastating landslide in Papua New Guinea has buried more than 2,000 people alive, according to a report from the national disaster centre to the UN. The disaster occurred early Friday when a section of Mount Mungalo collapsed, engulfing a remote hillside village in Enga province. The landslide caused significant destruction to homes, buildings, and food gardens, and blocked the main highway to Porgera Mine. The unstable situation continues to endanger rescue teams and survivors.
