Police arrested three men for raping a college student near Coimbatore airport. Two of the accused are brothers, and the third is their relative. The trio — Satish, Karthi, and Guna — robbed a two-wheeler and drank alcohol before attacking the woman and her friend in a parked car. They broke the car windows, injured the man, and dragged the woman away before assaulting her. Using CCTV footage, police tracked them to Vellakinaru. At least six people were killed and several others injured after a passenger train hit a stationary goods train in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district on Tuesday. The crash happened near Lal Khadan on the Bilaspur–Katni route when the Korba passenger train overshot a signal. The impact derailed several coaches and damaged wires and signals, stopping train services. Rescue and medical teams rushed to the site to help passengers. Railways have released helpline numbers for families. Several trains have been cancelled or diverted. Officials said a probe is underway to find out the cause of the accident.

Border Security Force (BSF) and Bengal Police have reported a sharp rise in illegal immigrants trying to return to Bangladesh.
