The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of rain and thunderstorms in Maharashtra for the next 5-6 days. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in Konkan and nearby hilly areas. Central Maharashtra and Marathwada will see light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning, and strong winds up to 50 km/h from May 25 to 27. A low-pressure area over central Maharashtra is moving east and weakening. A major power cut hit Nice in southern France early Sunday after a fire broke out at a power substation. A part of the roof at Terminal 1 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport collapsed early Sunday after heavy rainfall. The damaged membrane structure had been installed after last year’s fatal incident. Delhi International Airport said the section adjusted under pressure to release water and there was no damage to the main structure. Flight operations were hit, with 49 flights diverted between 11:30 PM and 4 AM. Many roads across the city saw heavy waterlogging and traffic jams. The India Meteorological Department recorded 81.2 mm of rain and strong winds up to 82 kmph in just six hours overnight.

MS Dhoni has said he will take a break before deciding on his IPL 2026 future. Abdul Latif, a Baloch journalist, was shot dead in his home in Balochistan's Awaran district. Unknown gunmen tried to kidnap him. When he resisted, they killed him in front of his wife and children. Latif had reported on human rights issues and worked with Daily Intikhab and Aaj News. His son and other relatives were also found dead months ago after being kidnapped.
