Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi praised 18-year-old Sarthak Sidhant and his associate Nisarga Adhikary for highlighting alleged irregularities in the CBSE's on-screen marking (OSM) system. Sharing a video of his meeting with Sarthak, Gandhi said the teenagers achieved what even major investigative agencies could not. He claimed that "Modi ji wants youth to keep making reels and frying pakodas" instead of questioning the system. The controversy relates to allegations of answer-sheet mismatches in the digital evaluation process. Gandhi has demanded an independent judicial inquiry into the matter.  

Delhi Police have arrested a couple and their minor son for the murder of 49-year-old Delhi University assistant professor Debosmita Paul. Investigators said the accused allegedly killed her after she refused to sell them her ancestral property in West Bengal's Bardhaman, where they had been living as tenants since 2023. Police claimed the family travelled to Delhi with a pre-planned motive, used fake identities to stay at a guest house and murdered Paul inside her East Delhi flat. CCTV footage and technical surveillance helped trace the suspects, who were arrested in Bardhaman. Further investigation is underway. (PC: Indian today)  

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Sunday said the INDIA bloc remains united ahead of its crucial meeting in New Delhi, despite the DMK deciding to skip the gathering. Ramesh said 23 political parties will attend the meeting and continue to oppose the Narendra Modi-led government on issues such as alleged attacks on democratic institutions, rising prices, unemployment and foreign policy. Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee is expected to join the discussions, while the CPI(M) will also participate. Hyderabad resident Anshul Kuncha was shot dead while delivering a pizza in Philadelphia, United States, in a suspected targeted attack. The 2024 Business Analytics graduate from Drexel University worked weekend pizza delivery shifts to earn extra income. According to US media reports, he was called to deliver an order to a vacant house, where two masked suspects allegedly followed and shot him. His sister described the incident as a "trap" and appealed to the Indian government to help bring back his mortal remains. Singapore has ordered YouTube, Facebook and X to block access to 14 xenophobic social media posts targeting the Indian community, saying the content threatens the country's multicultural values and racial harmony. Authorities said the posts, believed to have originated overseas, promoted inflammatory narratives claiming that Singapore was being "overrun by Indians". The action was taken under the Online Criminal Harms Act, with police directing the platforms to restrict access for users in Singapore. The government said it has zero tolerance for xenophobia and attempts to create divisions between communities, stressing that safeguarding racial harmony remains a national priority. India enjoyed a successful start to the New Taipei City Athletics Open as long jumper Shaili Singh and the women's 4x100m relay team won gold medals, while hurdler Tejas Shirse secured a silver on Saturday.   Shaili clinched the long jump title with an effort of 6.24m. The relay quartet of SS Sneha, Srabani Nanda, Sudeshna Shivankar and Tamanna clocked 44.07 seconds to win gold and equal the meet record.
