Google has asked US regulators for permission to release up to 32 million specially treated mosquitoes in parts of California and Florida. The releases would take place over two years in selected areas.   Before the project begins, federal authorities will review safety and environmental data. The death toll in the Saket building collapse in South Delhi has risen to four as rescue teams continue searching through debris more than 18 hours after the incident. The multi-storey structure in Saidulajab, near Saket Metro Station, collapsed on Saturday evening, trapping several people, including students and workers. Multiple agencies, including the NDRF, Delhi Fire Services, police, and civic authorities, have been involved in the rescue effort. Several injured victims were rushed to hospitals for treatment. Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee on Sunday alleged that he was the target of an "attempt to murder" after being injured during a confrontation near Chanditala Police Station in West Bengal's Hooghly district. Banerjee claimed that a group of BJP supporters threw a stone that struck his head while he was on his way to submit a memorandum to police.   The TMC leader alleged that police failed to intervene and accused BJP leaders of creating a hostile atmosphere. A video from the scene showed Banerjee holding his head before collapsing. The incident comes a day after TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee was allegedly attacked with stones and eggs in Sonarpur.

At least 4 people were killed and 10 others injured after a four-storey building collapsed in South Delhi's Saket area on Saturday evening. Rescue teams worked through the night and pulled 14 people from the rubble by Sunday morning. The injured, including three women, were taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where four victims were declared dead.   According to police, most of the victims were medical students who were eating at a nearby kitchen set up for students in the area. The kitchen structure collapsed after being struck by debris from the falling building. Authorities said rescue operations are continuing as more people may still be trapped. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has acknowledged security vulnerabilities in its On-Screen Marking (OSM) portal following allegations that the system was compromised twice by ethical hackers. In its first public response, CBSE said it is closely monitoring the vulnerabilities identified in the portal operated by its service provider and has engaged cybersecurity experts from government agencies and IITs to strengthen security measures.   The board said the identified flaws have been contained and the portal is being migrated to a more secure environment. CBSE also thanked ethical hackers and citizens who reported security concerns and invited further disclosures to help improve the system's safety. (PC: India Today)
