At least 4 people were killed and 10 others injured after a four-storey building collapsed in South Delhi's Saket area on Saturday evening. Rescue teams worked through the night and pulled 14 people from the rubble by Sunday morning. The injured, including three women, were taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where four victims were declared dead.   According to police, most of the victims were medical students who were eating at a nearby kitchen set up for students in the area. The kitchen structure collapsed after being struck by debris from the falling building. Authorities said rescue operations are continuing as more people may still be trapped. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has acknowledged security vulnerabilities in its On-Screen Marking (OSM) portal following allegations that the system was compromised twice by ethical hackers. In its first public response, CBSE said it is closely monitoring the vulnerabilities identified in the portal operated by its service provider and has engaged cybersecurity experts from government agencies and IITs to strengthen security measures.   The board said the identified flaws have been contained and the portal is being migrated to a more secure environment. CBSE also thanked ethical hackers and citizens who reported security concerns and invited further disclosures to help improve the system's safety. (PC: India Today)

US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said a “true friendship” is developing between the United States and Pakistan's leadership, praising the roles of Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in regional peace efforts.   Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, Hegseth described improving US-Pakistan ties as an important and unexpected development. He also said Washington does not currently view either India or Pakistan as a missile threat to the United States.   At the same time, Hegseth reaffirmed America's strategic partnership with India, calling it a critical anchor in South Asia and highlighting expanding defence cooperation between the two countries. The Kedarnath Yatra has been temporarily suspended after heavy rainfall and an orange weather alert were issued in Uttarakhand. Officials said the decision was taken as a precaution to ensure the safety of pilgrims travelling to the Himalayan shrine.   Garhwal Commissioner Anand Swaroop said devotees have been stopped at designated halt points, including Srinagar, until weather conditions improve. The India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain, thunderstorms and snowfall in several hill districts, particularly at higher altitudes.   Authorities said the pilgrimage will resume once routes are declared safe and weather conditions return to normal.  (PC: News18)

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi met Class 12 student Vedant Shrivastava, whose CBSE answer-sheet mix-up sparked a nationwide controversy. In a video shared on Sunday, Gandhi mocked online attacks on Vedant and his family, who were labelled “anti-national”, “deep state agents” and even “terrorists” by some social media users.   “Show the faces of these ‘terrorists’,” Gandhi said jokingly while speaking with Vedant and his brother about the abuse they faced online.   Vedant had alleged that the Physics answer sheet provided by CBSE did not belong to him. More than 400 people were arrested across France after celebrations following Paris Saint-Germain's UEFA Champions League victory over Arsenal turned violent. Authorities said 416 people were detained, including 280 in Paris, as clashes erupted between football fans and police.   Thousands gathered on the Champs-Élysées after PSG won the final in a penalty shootout. Some supporters set off fireworks and flares, while vehicles and businesses were damaged. Police used tear gas to disperse crowds in central Paris.   Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said seven police officers were injured and described the violence as "absolutely unacceptable". She says the flexible schedule allows her to manage her time better and enjoy a less stressful lifestyle. Her story has resonated with many social media users, who praised her decision to prioritise personal well-being and happiness over a conventional corporate career.  

The prime accused in the murder of 17-year-old Surya Chauhan was killed in a police encounter in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad late on Saturday night. Police identified the accused as Asad, who was allegedly involved in Surya's killing on Bakrid.   According to officials, police received information that Asad was planning to collect money from a friend in Khora before fleeing the city. A team set up surveillance and attempted to intercept him. Police said Asad opened fire during the operation, prompting retaliatory action. He was injured and later died in hospital. A police constable was also injured, while Asad's accomplice escaped and remains at large. (PC: India Today)

US President Donald Trump said Iran has agreed not to develop nuclear weapons, describing ongoing negotiations as being “close to a very good deal.” Trump stated that any final agreement must guarantee Tehran never acquires nuclear weapons and must also help reopen the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. However, Iranian officials have denied that a final agreement has been reached and disputed several US claims regarding nuclear commitments and regional conditions. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee strongly condemned the alleged attack on TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee in Sonarpur, stating that “he could have died” during the incident. According to TMC leaders, a convoy carrying Abhishek Banerjee was targeted with stones and eggs, resulting in damage to his vehicle and minor injuries. Mamata Banerjee accused BJP workers of orchestrating the attack and called it a serious threat to democratic politics.
