Glasgow Gurdwara's General Secretary Prabhjot Kaur said: "Glasgow Gurdwara strongly condemns such disorderly behaviour for disrupting the peaceful proceedings of a Sikh place of worship. The Gurdwara is open to people from all communities and backgrounds and we welcome everyone openly as per our principles of faith."

Police said they received a disturbance report around 1:05 pm on Friday in the Albert Drive area. While no injuries were reported, an inquiry is underway to establish the full circumstances. This comes after India's High Commission in London termed it a "disgraceful incident" involving outside elements deliberately disrupting a planned event. The HC and Consul General left to prevent any altercation. India reported the matter to UK authorities and police.

A Sikh restaurant owner in the UK, who previously received threats from Khalistani elements, has claimed his car was shot at and vandalized by extremists in West London. A video posted online alleges Harman Singh Kapoor's family has faced constant threats of violence and rape by Khalistan supporters. The claims emerge as the Indian High Commissioner was disrupted from entering a Glasgow gurudwara. A journalist said the attack on Kapoor's family is ongoing as they await police. Earlier, she questioned the decision to remove the panic alarm from Kapoor's car amid tensions following Canada's claims of an Indian hand in a Sikh separatist's killing. The incidents highlight emboldened extremists amid the India-Canada row.

Speaking in Washington DC after meeting US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said the ongoing tensions in Canada should not be seen as normal. He asserted that India does not need lessons from others on freedom of speech, in an apparent reference to Canada. Jaishankar said there is "an atmosphere of intimidation" with violence and threats targeting India's diplomatic premises and individuals in Canada. He added that incitement to violence is a misuse of free speech, not a defense of it. Jaishankar had earlier discussed the tensions with Blinken and US NSA Jake Sullivan.

According to a report by The Hindu, India has urged the U.K. to boost security for its diplomats after the Indian High Commissioner to the U.K., Vikram Doraiswami, was denied entry to a Gurdwara in Glasgow by two men during his Scotland visit. The Hindu learned that India took up the matter with U.K. authorities, requesting additional security for the envoy on the ground. Sources told The Hindu that India wants to avoid escalating tensions like the ongoing spat with Canada and regards this as an isolated incident. India continues to press the U.K. to ensure stricter security for its diplomats, The Hindu reported.
