Despite these limitations, he continues campaigning vigorously, rallying support in Punjab against the BJP-led Centre.

Amidst an ongoing feud with her party over an alleged assault case involving Delhi CM's aide, AAP MP Swati Maliwal alleges receiving rape and death threats. Maliwal accuses her party of orchestrating character assassination, with YouTuber Dhruv Rathee's one-sided video exacerbating the threats. She criticizes Rathee for behaving like an AAP spokesperson and victim-shaming. Maliwal highlights unaddressed facts in Rathee's video and vows to report threats to the Delhi Police. The AAP and BJP trade allegations over the case, as the accused aide remains in judicial custody till May 28.

During the sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls, a team of BJP candidate Pranat Tudu was attacked while visiting a polling booth in West Bengal's Jhargram. Allegations surfaced that Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers orchestrated the assault. A video captured the mob pelting stones at Tudu's convoy, resulting in injuries to his security personnel and damage to his vehicle. However, TMC refuted the claims, accusing Tudu's security of assaulting a woman voter. The incident highlights the tense political atmosphere in the region as elections continue amidst clashes and accusations.

The sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 recorded a 58.98% voter turnout across 58 constituencies in six states and two Union territories. West Bengal led with over 78% turnout, while Bihar and Uttar Pradesh saw lower participation at 53.19% and 54.03%, respectively. Delhi recorded 54.37%, Haryana 58.24%, Odisha 59.92%, and Jharkhand 62.66%. The Anantnag-Rajouri constituency in Jammu and Kashmir saw its highest turnout in decades at over 51%. President Droupadi Murmu and other prominent leaders cast their votes early. Sporadic violence was reported in some areas of West Bengal. Final turnout numbers may slightly increase.

After voting, she expressed confidence that the INDIA bloc will win the Lok Sabha elections, citing an undercurrent of support. She criticized BJP leaders for ignoring key issues. Priyanka emphasized that Congress has focused on people's concerns throughout their campaign. Her family, including husband Robert Vadra and their children, also voted. Voting is underway in 58 constituencies across six states and two Union Territories, including Delhi and West Bengal's Jangal Mahal region.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "mujra" comment during rallies in Bihar has triggered a backlash from opposition leaders. Modi accused the INDIA bloc of appeasing Muslim voters and attempting to divert SC, ST, and OBC reservations. Congress's Pawan Khera suggested Modi needs medical help, while TMC's Saket Gokhale criticized his language. RJD's Manoj Jha expressed concern for Modi's state of mind. The Election Commission of India (ECI) released voter turnout numbers for the first five phases of the Lok Sabha elections. The ECI stated that turnout data has always been available to candidates and the public through an app from 9:30 AM on each polling day. This comes after the Supreme Court supported the ECI against an NGO's demand for booth-wise data, citing potential chaos. Polling for the sixth phase of general elections is underway in 58 constituencies across six states and two Union territories, including all seven seats in Delhi. Voter turnout has reached approximately 49.2% as of 3 pm, with 889 candidates competing. Twelve alternative identity documents are accepted at polling stations. Liquor shops in polling areas are closed due to dry day restrictions until 6 pm. This marks the completion of five voting phases by May 20. Notably, West Bengal recorded a high turnout of 70.19% in eight constituencies by 3 pm. Polling will continue until 6 pm today.
