Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has recommended a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, citing allegations of receiving $16 million from a banned pro-Khalistan group. The complaint alleges the funds facilitated the release of Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar and promoted pro-Khalistani sentiments. The recommendation is based on purported evidence of a clandestine meeting between Kejriwal and pro-Khalistani Sikhs in New York in 2014. Kejriwal's AAP worker shared a photo of the meeting, and Kejriwal allegedly sought clemency for Bhullar, according to the complaint cited by the LG's office.
