Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been sentenced to 14 days in jail in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) accused Kejriwal of providing false evidence and non-cooperation during his custody. Kejriwal's lawyers requested permission for him to bring three books into jail, including the Bhagavad Geeta and Ramayan. Additionally, the Delhi High Court directed the ED to file a status report on a PIL seeking to restrain Kejriwal from issuing orders while in custody. Kejriwal's arrest came after a mega rally by the Opposition INDIA bloc in the capital.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi refuted claims by the opposition that central agencies are being misused by the BJP-led government, stating that they operate independently. In an interview with Thanthi TV, he emphasized the agencies' autonomy, stating they are evaluated by judicial standards. Addressing concerns of bias, he highlighted that less than 3% of cases pursued by the Enforcement Directorate involve politicians. Modi asserted that regardless of political affiliation, agencies follow the same procedures. He also criticized past governments for hindering anti-corruption efforts and affirmed the BJP's commitment to combating corruption.

Sunita Kejriwal, wife of jailed Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, revealed the INDIA bloc's six promises during the 'Loktantra Bachao' rally in New Delhi. Pledges include 24-hour countrywide electricity, free electricity for the poor, and establishment of government schools and clinics in every village and mohalla. Additionally, farmers are assured MSP as per the Swaminathan Committee report, while Delhi's statehood is prioritized. Amidst opposition unity, leaders including Sharad Pawar and Sonia Gandhi supported the rally. Sunita Kejriwal emphasized addressing India's plight, vowing to rectify Delhi's statehood issue if the INDIA bloc gains power.

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav criticized the BJP, stating they're globally embarrassed for arresting Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Speaking at an opposition rally in Delhi, he slammed the BJP over electoral bonds, alleging unprecedented deceit. Yadav suggested the BJP's concern stems from losing power. He contrasted PM Modi's rally in Meerut with the opposition's in Delhi, interpreting it as a power shift. Yadav accused the BJP of deploying agencies like ED, CBI, and IT to manipulate donations, labeling their falsehoods unparalleled.

The Congress party disclosed receiving fresh notices from the Income-Tax department, citing demands of Rs 1,745 crore for assessment years 2014-15 to 2016-17. This, added to prior notices for assessment years 1994-95 and 2017-18 to 2020-21, brings the total demand to Rs 3,567 crores. Alleging "tax terrorism" by the ruling BJP government, the party claims these actions aim to financially weaken it ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Notably, these notices arrived shortly after the Congress criticized the government's financial strategies.
