Government sources indicate that the Centre could enact the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, potentially notifying its rules prior to the Model Code of Conduct taking effect. Union Home Minister Amit Shah reaffirmed earlier statements, asserting the CAA's implementation before polls.
