His innings is the only 50+ score among 1,793 such knocks by batters from 12 full-member teams without a dot ball. The ICC could allow Bangladesh back into the T20 World Cup 2026 if Pakistan decides to withdraw, according to a media report. Bangladesh were earlier removed after refusing to travel to India over security concerns. Pakistan is the only team that supported Bangladesh’s request to shift matches out of India. A report said that if Pakistan pulls out, Bangladesh would be offered the vacant spot and play matches in Sri Lanka. “Bangladesh would be given the opportunity to replace them,” an official was quoted as saying. Bangladeshi media organisations have claimed the ICC denied accreditation to their journalists for the T20 World Cup 2026. Reports said between 130 and 150 journalists from Bangladesh applied, but none were approved. BCB media committee chairman Amzad Hossain said, “As far as I know, all Bangladeshi journalists were rejected.” Some photojournalists said earlier approvals were later withdrawn. Bangladesh cricketers are pleading to "save cricket" after the Bangladesh Cricket Board reinstated controversial director M Najmul Islam as finance head, just days after suspending him. Cricketers Rohit Sharma and Harmanpreet Kaur have been named for the Padma Shri as the President approved 131 Padma awards for 2026. The honours were announced on the eve of Republic Day. The list includes five Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri awards. The Padma Shri recognises distinguished service in sports and other fields. Officials said the 2026 list includes 19 women and 16 posthumous awardees.
