India’s women’s hockey team defeated world No. 5 Germany 3-1 in the fifth-place classification match at the 2026 FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup in Amstelveen, Netherlands. The victory secured India’s best World Cup finish in 52 years, matching their strong showing since finishing fourth in 1974. Ishika opened the scoring in the 43rd minute before Navneet Kaur struck twice in the 44th and 47th minutes to put India firmly ahead.
