West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has hinted at a possible future claim for government formation by the opposition INDIA bloc. Criticizing the NDA government as "unconstitutional" and "illegal," Banerjee emphasized a “wait and watch” approach during a meeting with TMC leaders. She argued the election mandate was against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and suggested that someone else should lead. The TMC has decided to boycott the swearing-in ceremony of the new NDA government. Banerjee also highlighted TMC’s plans to push for the revocation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, in the upcoming Parliament sessions.
