Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the oath for his third term today, along with 72 ministers. The new coalition government includes 30 Cabinet Ministers, 5 with independent charge, and 36 Ministers of State. The portfolios will be announced later. Notable ministers sworn in include Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, and Nirmala Sitharaman. HD Kumaraswamy of Janata Dal (Secular) was the first ally leader to take the oath. Leaders from neighboring countries attended the ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Modi, 73, is the second Prime Minister after Jawaharlal Nehru to serve three consecutive terms.
