Ajit Doval has been reappointed as National Security Adviser (NSA) by the Modi government, with his term starting from June 10, 2024. A retired IPS officer, Doval first became NSA in 2014 and will continue to advise on national and international security. Dr. PK Mishra, a retired IAS officer, has also been reappointed as Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. Their appointments are co-terminus with the term of PM Modi or until further orders. Doval, known for his distinguished service, previously served as IB Chief and received the Kirti Chakra in 1988.
