Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan has been appointed Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, handling Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Rural Water Supply, and Environment and Forests portfolios. Kalyan, the JanaSena Party chief, won his first Assembly seat in Pithapuram.
