Olympic bronze medallist Bajrang Punia faces another suspension from the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) following a Notice of Charge issued on June 23. This action comes after his previous suspension was revoked by a disciplinary panel due to the absence of a formal charge. The suspension relates to Punia's refusal to provide a urine sample during trials in Sonipat on March 10. His lawyer, Vishuspath Singania, maintains that Punia has done nothing wrong and intends to contest the charge. Punia has until July 11 to respond to the notice and challenge the alleged anti-doping rule violation.
