ISRO successfully completed its third Landing Experiment (LEX-03) for the Pushpak Reusable Launch Vehicle on June 23, 2024, at the Aeronautical Test Range in Chitradurga, Karnataka. This final test demonstrated Pushpak's precise horizontal landing under challenging conditions, including a higher degree of deviation from the intended orbit and severe wind conditions. The vehicle, dropped from an altitude of 4.5 km by an Indian Air Force Chinook helicopter, executed autonomous maneuvers and landed precisely on the runway centerline. This success advances ISRO's development of a reusable vehicle capable of orbital missions, reducing launch costs and enhancing competitiveness.
