Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, leader of AIMIM, concluded his oath as a member of the 18th Lok Sabha with the slogan "Jai Palestine" on Tuesday. This marked his fifth term in office. Owaisi stated on X (formerly Twitter) his commitment to raising issues of India's marginalized. His oath, taken in Urdu, also included "Jai Bhim, Jai Meem, Jai Telangana." The gesture sparked chants of "Jai Shri Ram" from BJP MPs. Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Kiren Rijiju criticized the slogan as inappropriate. Owaisi defended his words, asserting no constitutional prohibition against his statement.
