FC Barcelona has announced the closure of its football academies in India, effective July 1. The academies, located in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi NCR, and Bangalore, were launched 14 years ago to train Indian youth in the club's renowned "La Masia" style. Thousands of players have been trained since 2010, with India hosting two Barca Academy APAC tournaments and participating in 11 Barcelona Academy World Cup editions. The club has not provided a reason for the closure, which was announced on their website. The decision marks the end of an era for Indian footballers who aspired to train in the Barca way.
