Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has defended Virat Kohli amid criticism of his T20 World Cup form, highlighting Kohli's outstanding performance in the previous ODI World Cup where he scored over 700 runs. Ganguly emphasized, "Virat should continue to open. He just had a World Cup of 700 runs seven months ago. He is human. Sometimes, he will also fail, and you have to accept it." Ganguly cited examples of cricket legends, stating, "People like Kohli, Tendulkar, Dravid, they are institutions for Indian cricket." India's captain Rohit Sharma echoed support, noting, "Form is never a problem for Kohli."
