West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose filed a defamation suit against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the Calcutta High Court. The lawsuit comes after Banerjee claimed women were afraid to visit the Raj Bhavan due to recent activities. Bose criticized Banerjee for her remarks, saying public representatives should not make erroneous and slanderous statements. The Governor also filed a defamation suit against certain TMC leaders for their similar remarks. This move comes after a contractual employee accused Bose of molestation, which he called "baseless and absurd drama".
