The BCCI has decided to rest Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah from the upcoming Sri Lanka tour to prioritize their readiness for the packed home season starting in September. After retiring from T20Is, Sharma and Kohli will return for the Bangladesh series, while Bumrah continues to play. The Sri Lanka tour, scheduled from July 27 to August 7, includes three ODIs and T20Is. The BCCI also plans to appoint Gautam Gambhir as head coach, pending final negotiations, to lead the team from the Sri Lanka series onward.
