The BCCI has named Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team, hoping his tenacity and leadership skills will benefit the team. Gambhir, who will begin his tenure with the Sri Lanka series, is also set to bring in his own coaching staff. According to reports, he has recommended Abhishek Nayar as assistant coach and R Vinay Kumar as bowling coach. The BCCI is expected to act quickly on these recommendations. Gambhir takes over from Rahul Dravid, who held the position with remarkable success.
