A devastating bus accident occurred on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, resulting in five fatalities and 42 injuries. The bus, carrying approximately 50 passengers, collided with a tractor and fell into a ditch. The passengers, mostly pilgrims from Kalyan-Dombivali, were en route to Pandharpur for the Ashadhi Ekadashi Yatra. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The accident caused a significant traffic jam, but traffic resumed after three hours. Authorities used a crane to retrieve the bus. An investigation into the incident is underway.
