Tragedy struck in Sri Lanka as former Under-19 cricket team captain, Dhammika Niroshana, was allegedly shot dead at his Ambalangoda home on Tuesday night. The incident occurred in the presence of his family, including his wife and two children. A 12-bore firearm was reportedly used in the crime. Police have sent the body for autopsy and are investigating the matter. Niroshana, a pace bowling all-rounder, led notable players like Farvez Maharoof and Angelo Mathews during his age-group cricket days. He had quit the sport at 20. The cricket fraternity mourns the loss of a talented young cricketer.
