The Supreme Court has stated that a re-examination of NEET-UG 2024 is only possible if the sanctity of the exam has been significantly compromised. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud emphasized that a paper leak must be shown to have systemically affected the entire examination, not just a small portion. The court is hearing over 40 petitions alleging malpractices and irregularities in the exam. The CJI stressed that a re-examination cannot be ordered solely because a small percentage of students will be admitted. A concrete basis for re-examination must be established. The court will continue to hear the case.
