Manu Bhaker clinched a bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol at the Paris Olympics, scoring 221.7 points. After the heartbreak in Tokyo, her parents' recitations from the Bhagavad Gita helped her regain focus. "One verse that really resonated with me was, 'One who remains detached under all conditions...is a sage with perfect knowledge,'" said Bhaker. Her journey began at her school in Haryana, where she first picked up a pistol in 2014. "We gave her full freedom to pursue her passion," recalled her father, Ramkishan Bhaker. Despite narrowly missing the silver, Bhaker's accomplishment marks a proud moment for India, inspiring many young athletes. "This bronze will motivate her for the mixed team event," her father added.
