The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has sealed the basements of eight coaching institutes in the last two days for violating building norms. Drishti IAS, Vajiram and Ravi, and SriRam IAS are among the institutes affected. The action follows the death of three students in a flooded basement of Rau's IAS Study Circle coaching centre. The MCD found that basements were being used for coaching classes, contrary to rules. The seals were put in place to prevent further violations and ensure student safety. The MCD will continue to monitor and take action against non-compliant institutes.
