Massive landslides in Kerala's Wayanad district have killed 47 people and left hundreds trapped amid heavy rain. The Army, along with the NDRF, has deployed 225 personnel and two Air Force helicopters for rescue operations. The hardest-hit areas include Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala, and Noolpuzha villages. Prime Minister Modi announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for victims' families and Rs 50,000 for the injured. A control room and helplines have been set up, with ongoing rescue efforts hindered by incessant rain and boulder-blocked paths.
