Former Indian Cricketer Anshuman Gaekwad Passes Away at 71 After Battle with Blood Cancer

Former Indian cricketer Anshuman Gaekwad has died at 71 after a prolonged battle with blood cancer. Gaekwad, who played 40 Tests and 15 ODIs, scoring 1154 runs including two centuries, was best remembered for his top score of 201 against Pakistan in 1983. Earlier this year, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah pledged INR 1 crore to support him, while former cricketers like Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar raised additional funds. Gaekwad had been undergoing treatment in London for over a year. The BCCI has promised ongoing support to his family during this difficult time.
