Swapnil Kusale, a 28-year-old railway ticket collector from Kolhapur, Maharashtra, secured a bronze medal in the 50m rifle 3 positions event at the Paris Olympics. Kusale, who draws inspiration from former ticket collector and cricket legend MS Dhoni, has been employed with Central Railways since 2015. His father, a school teacher, encouraged him to take up shooting. Kusale previously won gold in the 2022 Asian Games team event and multiple medals at the 2022 World Cup in Baku. His success continues India's strong performance in shooting at the Olympics.
