Nine people, including eight children, were killed and several others injured when a 50-year-old temple wall collapsed in Shahpur, Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh, amid heavy rainfall. The incident occurred during the preparation of earthen shivlings at Hardayal temple for Sawan festivities. A bulldozer was deployed to search for survivors. This tragedy follows another incident in Rewa district, where four children died in a similar wall collapse. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for each victim's family. Police have arrested two building owners in Rewa over the previous incident.
