Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the Paris Olympics gold medal bout for being 100 grams overweight. Despite her historic achievement as the first Indian woman wrestler in the gold medal bout, Phogat's weight exceeded the 50kg limit despite drastic measures including cutting her hair. IOA chief PT Usha expressed shock and assured full support for Phogat, confirming that the Wrestling Federation of India has filed an appeal with the United World Wrestling (UWW) to overturn the decision.
