United World Wrestling (UWW) chief Nenad Lalovic has confirmed that Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification from the Paris Olympics will not be overturned. Phogat, who was found 100 grams overweight before her gold medal bout, will not receive a medal. Despite the Wrestling Federation of India's appeal, Lalovic stated that the rules are strict and the disqualification stands. He emphasized that allowing exceptions would undermine the rules, and the possibility of awarding her a medal is "impossible." Phogat's disqualification has dashed hopes for her historic win.
