Team India's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, confirmed that wrestler Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the Paris Olympics for being 100 grams overweight. Despite extreme measures, including dehydration and cutting her hair, she couldn't meet the 50kg limit. Dr. Pardiwala stated, "If we had a few hours more, we might have been able to shed that 100 grams." Vinesh’s disqualification followed an intense weight cut after her weight spiked post-semi-final bouts. The Wrestling Federation of India has appealed, but United World Wrestling maintains the disqualification.
