Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Neeraj Chopra for winning the silver medal in the men’s javelin at the Paris Olympics 2024. Chopra's throw of 89.45 meters earned him second place, behind Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem. Modi praised Chopra’s resilience despite an injury and expressed pride in his achievement. The PM also commended Chopra’s mother, Saroj, for her sportsmanship and positive outlook. Neeraj Chopra is now one of only three Indians to win medals in consecutive Olympics, joining the ranks of Sushil Kumar and PV Sindhu.
