Vinesh Phogat's CAS Verdict Delayed, Decision Expected on August 13

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has delayed its decision on Vinesh Phogat's appeal against her disqualification from the Paris Olympics final. Vinesh was disqualified for being 100 grams overweight before her final match. The CAS hearing concluded, but the verdict has been extended to August 13. Vinesh has requested to be awarded joint silver with Cuban wrestler Yusneylis Guzman Lopez, who replaced her in the final. The Indian Olympic Association remains hopeful for a favorable outcome. Support for Vinesh has poured in from athletes, including Japanese Olympic champion Rei Higuchi and Indian hockey legend PR Sreejesh.
