A postgraduate medical student in Kolkata was found raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College. The 28-year-old victim, a second-year chest medicine student, was discovered dead in a seminar hall after her night shift. The initial autopsy revealed severe injuries, including a broken neck and bleeding from multiple parts of her body. The suspect, Sanjoy Roy, has been arrested. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee demanded the death penalty for the culprit, while TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee called for swift justice and harsher punishments for rapists and murderers.
