Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) has cut 42,000 jobs, or 11% of its workforce, in the 2023–24 fiscal year, prompting concern from Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal. Mittal described the layoffs as “alarming,” questioning the lack of widespread media attention. RIL aims to improve cost efficiency, particularly affecting its retail division.
