7 devotees, including three women, died in a stampede at Baba Sidheshwar Nath temple in Bihar's Jehanabad district on Sunday night. The stampede occurred during a consecration event in the holy month of Shravan, allegedly after NCC volunteers used lathis to control the crowd. Over thirty-five others were injured and are being treated at local hospitals. Authorities have denied negligence, with the District Magistrate attributing the incident to a scuffle among kanwariyas. The tragedy has left the community in shock, and locals fear the death toll could rise.
