Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President PT Usha defended the IOA medical team, particularly Chief Medical Officer Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, following criticism over Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification from the Paris Olympics. Usha stated, "The responsibility of weight management in sports like wrestling is that of the athlete and their coach, not the IOA medical team." Phogat, disqualified for being 100 grams overweight before her women's 50kg final, has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for a joint silver medal. Usha criticized the blame directed at the medical team, emphasizing, "The IOA team was primarily for recovery and injury management."
