In the wake of a trainee doctor's rape and murder at Kolkata's RG Kar Hospital, the Assistant Superintendent allegedly misinformed the victim's family, claiming she died by suicide. The Kolkata Police have summoned the Assistant Superintendent and the Head of Department for questioning. The victim’s body, found on August 9, showed signs of severe assault, including bleeding from multiple areas and homicidal injuries. A civic volunteer, Sanjay Roy, has been arrested and charged with rape and murder. The hospital's Principal resigned amid growing outrage, while the Medical Superintendent was replaced. The police continue their investigation.
