The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday questioned three batchmates of the trainee doctor who was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The three doctors were on duty the night of the incident, according to sources. The CBI also summoned eight other medical staff members for questioning. Meanwhile, protests erupted at the hospital, with doctors demanding answers from the administration. The vandalism at the hospital continues to draw criticism, with the Indian Medical Association condemning the attack as an attempt to intimidate young medical professionals. Twelve arrests have been made so far.
